Lived In Dream
Being a wheelchair bound person, my life has always been confined inside the four walls. As previously mentioned in my blog, I decided to visit Kerala, my hometown, my dream town. It was my first flight! Literally & philosophically. First flights as always are exciting & scary because I need wheelchair assistance and help to lift me to the seat. The support I received from a person whom I have never seen but he is like an elder brother whose name is Saiju was beyond imaginable right from the beginning till the end of the flight.
Also, I got a chance to get clicked with a kind pilot & some air hostesses. When the flight landed, mother nature welcomed me with an unexpected outpour. Those were the first droplets of rain that fell on my face & it was amazing! I landed after the sunset and that’s why I didn’t have a good look up but when I woke up next I saw a big window in front of my eyes from where I witnessed for the very first time a huge patch of greenery. Vagamon, Kuttikkanam, Alappuzha are some of the places I visited in Kerala, the scenes were beyond expectations and I realized why the state is named God’s own country.
You know that feeling when you meet an online friend for the first time? I experienced the same with all my relatives & cousins with whom I have been video calling all these years. The joy of meeting someone in person is a feeling that technology can’t fulfill in the near future at least. That said, I also met with friends and people who have a strong relationship with me more than my relatives (I’m not mentioning names).
Having said that, MIND is my second family. Most of its members are settled in Kerala itself. I was fortunate enough to meet a few of them during this visit, and Emi (who is also a part of my MIND family) came to meet me from very far. It’s not just our buIts not just our bodies, Lord has bestowed us with similar minds & kind hearts too. I also got a chance to visit alot of well-known Churches that I had only heard of earlier.
Talking of favourite places, beaches top my list. Fort Kochi’s beach was amazing, I went quite close to the water. Special thanks to Sobin for fulfilling my desire of being by the beach. During my return flight with Air India, an air hostess named Vishnu was kind enough to help me throughout the flight. Overall, my trip was fulfilling & happy because alot of good hearted people came together to bring my dream into reality.
