A Gift From Above
A few years ago, on my birthday, the Almighty gifted me someone truly special. She’s more than a sister; she’s like an ancestor, a soul deeply connected to mine in a way I’ve never experienced with anyone else. She’s the person I talk to throughout the day, sharing every thought, every feeling. Our bond is unique, a tapestry woven with shared secrets and unwavering care. She is my Takdu (Emi).
We’ve confided in each other, sharing dreams and vulnerabilities, creating a vault of memories that will forever remain ours. She knows me better than anyone, understanding the depths of my heart and the intricacies of my mind.
Recently, I made the move to Kerala, a journey I’ve shared previously. (If you’re curious, you can find the journey by heading over the link. While there, I had the incredible opportunity to visit her for a couple of days, which stand out as some of the most cherished moments of my life. Her home is like my second home, with Appachan, Ammachi, Ebi, Amrutha, and my little champion Nihan. Everyone loves me as one of their own.
My dearest Emi remembered every detail, every dream I’d ever shared, and brought them to life. She took me to a movie theater, and I watched a movie on the big screen for the very first time in my life. We explored the bustling Lulu Mall, another first for me, a dazzling experience of lights and wonder. She took me to the spot where I could sit and watch the waves crash against the shore, a moment of serene beauty. Visiting the sea was my biggest dream, and she fulfilled it.
She introduced me to new tastes and experiences, expanding my world in countless ways. More than anything, she’s my comfort zone, a safe haven in any storm. Her presence is a balm to my soul, a constant source of strength and reassurance.
I feel utterly blessed to have her in my life. “Thank you” seems inadequate, a mere formality, but it comes from the deepest part of me. You’ve done so much for me. I love you dearly and thank you for being my little sister.
