A New Chapter Begins

Delhi, the city of dreams, was my classroom and my battleground. It’s where I learned the alphabet of life, where I blessed with some good hearted people who supported me and made my life comfortable, and it is the place where I dared to dream big and start my own venture. It’s a city that holds a special place in my heart, a place I never imagined leaving.

But life, with its unexpected twists and turns, has a peculiar way of redirecting our paths. Confined to the second floor of a building, my world shrank to the size of a room. The vibrant tapestry of Delhi, with its bustling streets and more importantly the fresh air, remained a distant dream.

As I am a person with Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA), the wheelchair is my constant companion and it is a symbol of both limitation and resilience. My wheelchair carried me through countless challenges, but the absence of a lift in my building made a massive barrier, preventing me from experiencing the world beyond my four walls. The longing to breathe in fresh air, to feel the sun on my face, and to explore the beauty of nature grew with each passing day.

With a heavy heart, I’ve decided to embark on a new journey – a journey to Kerala. It’s a leap of faith, a gamble on a future filled with hope. I’m leaving behind the familiar and my loved ones. But the promise of a life where I can move freely, where I can experience the beauty of nature, is a siren song I can’t ignore.

Kerala, they say, is God’s own country. Its lush greenery, serene backwaters, and more have always captivated me. Perhaps, there, I will find the peace and independence I crave. Perhaps, there, I will discover a new chapter filled with adventure and joy. I also believe that I can able to be more productive in Kerala with a group of people in MIND, which is like my second family as well. Moreover, the love and accompany of KOOT awaits me and that will definitely bring a huge joy.

It’s a bittersweet farewell to Delhi, a city that has shaped me into the person I am today. But as the old adage goes, every ending is a new beginning. And I’m ready to embrace what lies ahead, with courage, optimism, and a heart full of gratitude for the experiences that have brought me to this crossroads.

This is not goodbye, Delhi. It’s simply see you later.

To the people who have been my constant support, my silent cheerleaders, and my unwavering friends – thank you. Your love and belief in me have been my guiding stars.
